About the event
While yoga is best known for its incredible body and mind benefits, this session involves going “beyond the mat” and directly into the heart of the practice.
This session will explore “The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali”, an ancient classical text. Through study, reflection, and experience we'll explore the essential principles of yoga, or what Patanjali refers to as the "Yamas + Niyamas," which motivate us to conduct our lives with greater balance, harmony, and compassion towards others as well as ourselves. We will conclude our session with an immersive Vinyasa practice that integrates the Yamas + Niyamas to embody the study more deeply.
How to prepare?
It is not required to read the entire "Yoga Sutras of Patanjali" before the session, however, you may find it useful to read Chapter 2 Sutras 2.28 - 2.45. If you are looking for book recommendations, please don't hesitate to reach out.
